What makes Spectrum Audio products different?

No compromises. Not when choosing components, associates or our values.

The components, technologies and techniques we use make the products more durable and easier to service. We also tend to go for the original designer and manufacturer of the parts instead of copies.

Here are some of the things we do:

Preamp MK2

Internal connections;

We use Molex and JST internal connectors instead of soldered leads on switches, potentiometers and in-between circuitboards. This makes them easier to change out, clean and repair. For this same reason we make more complex products with modular PCB´s.

Circuitboards and component types;

We make dual layer circuitboards with mainly THT (Through hole technology) components. This makes the product more durable and servicing possible even with less specialized tools.

Spectrum Delay Prototype

Active components;

We steer away from using IC chips that run closed source code on pedals and amps, if analog solutions are available. This makes servicing down the road easier especially for outside technicians.

Enclosures and chassis;

We prefer not to use small size enclosures, because it would mean compromising on the type of components we choose, the PCB layout and make servicing harder.

Spectrum Audio Controlplate

External hardware;

We use engraved faceplates instead of printed ones, because especially on effects  pedals that get stomped on, the paint/stickers will wear out over time.

Amplifier heads and cabinets;

We use solid woods on the amps and cabinets, mostly locally sourced baltic birch. This makes them withstand gigging and roadwear better.
